At Battilossi, the desire to strengthen the timeless bond with the past has always been accompanied by a continuous tension that pushes us to create new shapes that look to the future. Special Textured Soumak is a manifesto of precisely this: an innovative interpretation of the already known flat weave qualities that combines the different techniques of flat weaving and Soumak embroidery. The thread dances around the warp creating almost naturally shapes, volumes and reliefs, giving body and thickness to the carpet, but at the same time maintaining a low specific weight. The knotting of the very precious Ghazni wool, carried out by the skilled hands of Pakistan artisans, translates this concept into a two-dimensional weave with a rough, crunchy and consistent soul, but capable of interpreting a decidedly essential and elegant style to the best.
